Carissa Hernandez
Carissa has always been involved in the world of animals. Carissa has worked in veterinary clinics, and for a very long stretch, was a wrangler at a dude ranch while also working as a sells person for a beer distribution company. Eight years ago, big life changes would lead her to Idaho and a deep dive into the world of animal rescue and sheltering. Carissa currently works as the Shelter Program's Coordinator for the City of Idaho Falls. If you ask how many cats she has, she will have to pull out a pen, paper and possibly a calculator. She has built a house beside her own for the many cats that have been unadoptable at the shelter throughout the years, in order for them to have a home of their own. Every year Carissa fosters countless cats and kittens that require special care, until they are adoption ready and can be returned to the animal shelter. From tube feeding to bandage changes, and everything in between, Carissa's fulltime job has turned into a full-life job and she couldn't be more pleased. Featured cat: Old man Paul |
